THE NEW APP SYMBOL leads to The Ledger's content.
The Ledger Media Group has announced the launch of two new, free applications that bring more of the newspaper's digital content to iPhone and iPad users.
The apps allow readers to easily browse individual sections of The Ledger and enjoy videos, photo galleries, blogs and other content.
"We continue in our digital pilgrimage," said Jerome Ferson, publisher of the Ledger Media Group.
"Today's launch of The Ledger iPad and iPhone applications marks another significant step in that journey. We are excited by the potential offered through mobile and tablet computing technologies.
"Regardless of platform, consumers can turn to Ledger Media Group products as the most trusted source for local news and information."
Barry Friedman, managing editor/digital for The Ledger, noted the apps use a similar visual presentation to The Ledger's online and print editions.
"When you look at it, you know it's The Ledger. It's a very familiar product," he said.
Readers can find the free apps by visiting the App Store on their device and searching for "Ledger."
The apps are called "The Ledger for iPad" and "The Ledger for iPhone."
A mobile edition of The Ledger for other devices is still available at m.theledger.com.
